Carolina Kinder Development’s goal is not only to treat babies with flat head syndrome but also to educate professionals on our methods on this growing epidemic. We offer three levels of classes in Charlotte, NC.
1. Determine whether an infant needs a cranial band/orthotic?
Not all infants need an orthotic. CKD can teach you the intricacies of providing input on that decision and the factors involved. We startwith learning how to measure, photograph, and monitor progress while taking into account the multitude of factors which go into the decision.
2. Assess cranial band providers in your community.
Not all providers are created equal, learn about the biomechanics involved in a cranial band and how to evaluate the various providers and products available in your area.
3. Provide cranial band treatment in your clinic.
After learning how to identify the need for a cranial band, CKD will teach teach you how to incorporate cranial banding into your offering of services.

In addition to this helpful resource, she created a series of 16 infant development videos designed for caregivers and professionals to teach the basics of tummy time, side lying, choosing toys and many more. CKD also has a Youtube playlist with more helpful content on plagiocephaly and other head shape issues and will be publishing more content over the next few months.
